The Human Spark: A New Chapter
Until now, many of you have known my work as Coalesco Consulting. From here, I’ll be working under a new name: The Human Spark.
When I chose Coalesco, the meaning of the word - being anchored and growing together - reflected an idea that I still very much believe in. Development begins with understanding what is already there, particularly our strengths and talents, rather than focusing only on our weaknesses.
As my work has developed over the past five years, I have been looking for a name that expresses this belief more clearly and gives the work a stronger identity for the future.
What I mean by the human spark
The Human Spark begins with what each person brings: their particular combination of strengths, motivations, values and inner drive. Understanding our unique combination can help us recognise where we contribute most, what guides our decisions and what might be getting in our way.
But potential alone does not create change. A spark is not the fire itself - it is the moment before something catches. At work, this moment might be an insight that changes a decision, a conversation that shifts our perspective or a situation where we use our strengths exactly in the way the context requires.
The Human Spark represents both what is distinctive within each person and the moment it begins to affect what happens around them. With my work, the goal is to create the insight and conditions for the initial shift and help clients carry it forward until it becomes embedded in the organisation as meaningful change.
A clearer name for the work
The name is new, but the work behind it is not. I will continue to work with leaders and organisations at important moments of change and development, along with a trusted network of international colleagues who bring complementary perspectives and expertise and share my commitment to thoughtful, human work.
The approach remains practical: understand what is really happening, clarify what the situation requires and turn that insight into considered action.
The Human Spark gives this work a clearer identity and more room to grow. I look forward to continuing the work with many of you under this new name and to seeing where this next chapter will lead.
